Why
sell on eBay?
eBay reaches
a worldwide audience of eager
shoppers and gets about 6 million
visitors per day. Items sold
on eBay traditionally sell for
considerably more than a local market
can produce. eBay charges a
small insertion fee ($ .30 to $3.30
max for standard listing, based on
the starting bid amount you specify)
and you only pay closing fees
(commission) when and if the item
sells. Run a classified ad in your
local newspaper and you must pay in
advance whether the item sells or
not. And you can accept credit card
payments through online services such
as PayPal. The difference in the
amount your item sells for on eBay
vs. local market may be enough to
more than cover what you pay out in
commission. It just makes good sense
to sell on eBay!
